Plus Letters to the Editor I like this week’s Quote of the Week. Perhaps we’ve seen each other in the “in between” place? (Yes—that was you.) Clarity, balance, fun. So, how do we embrace all of that effectively in 2012? With Facebook, Tivo, Xfinity on Demand, Twitter, and a slew of other media offerings, sometimes finding that balance is not as easy as we’d like it to be. But, we’re Santa Cruzans, after all, and we don’t need to look far for some guidance and inspiration.

I think that media outlets’ agendas are only going to get stronger, and the way they report the news will be more influenced by those agendas rather than truth.
Thursday is Groundhog Day (will the groundhog see his shadow and return to his burrow?). It’s also Candlemas Day, a day of significance astronomically and religiously, signifying a time in between winter solstice and spring equinox. In the Catholic Church Candlemas is 40 days after Christmas. The holy child and Mary are presented in the Temple. Beeswax candles are blessed. Friday, Feb. 3, after 14 years in Aquarius, Neptune enters its own sign of Pisces (after 164 years), remaining there until 2025.
The people are so nice and welcoming here. I’ve lived here for five months and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
